Moog Music, in cooperation with The Orange Peel, will sponsor an International Theremin Festival – “Ether Music 2005”.
The 3 day event will feature workshops and concerts, and attendees will be treated to a tour of the Moog Music factory. Workshop topics will include theremin technique, how to build and customize a theremin, historical perspectives from Bob Moog, and others.
An exciting component of the weekend will be an original composition contest, with the winner performing their composition for theremin at one of the nightly concerts.
All of this takes place in beautiful Asheville, NC, home of Moog Music and a top US tour destination with a lively art and music scene. When you come, be sure to schedule in extra time to visit the world-famous Biltmore House and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
August 4-7th are the tentative dates for the festival. Be sure to pencil these dates in on your calendar. If “EtherMusic 2005” sounds like an event you’d love to be a part of, please email Linda Pritchard at linda@moogmusic.com . We’ll put you on the list, and send out additional information and a registration packet as it becomes available. We hope you’ll join us. It should be quite a celebration!
